In March, Governor Parson signed an Executive Order requiring all Missouri municipal elections scheduled for April 7 to be postponed until June 2, 2020. This order includes
Proposition Sthe Francis Howell no tax rate increase bond issue, and the FHSD Board of Education candidate election.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the St. Charles County Election Authority is anticipating increased participation in absentee voting ahead of the June 2 election. As part of the Executive Order, the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail is extended to May 20. In-person absentee ballots may be cast in the Election Authority office until 5 PM on June 1, and absentee ballots sent by mail must be received by the Election Authority by 7 PM on June 2. At this time, the Election Authority remains open for essential services, including absentee voting (397 Turner Blvd. St. Peters, MO 63376).

Voters who wish to vote via absentee ballot in the June 2 election because of COVID-19 concerns may choose Option 2 on their Absentee Ballot ApplicationOption 2 covers “Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including caring for a person who is incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability.” A Notary is not required for this option.

Polling places will open promptly at 6 AM and close at 7 PM for the June 2 election. The Election Authority is working to provide disinfectant wipes, masks, and gloves for election judges and hand sanitizer for voters for the June 2 election. To improve social distancing, judges tables and voting booths will be moved farther apart on Election Day. Voters are encouraged to wear face masks while in their polling places, and voters will be asked to observe appropriate spacing while in line when they vote.
