Q. What time does the learning commons (LC) open and close?
A. The LC is open 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Q. How long can I check out a book?
A. Students can check out a book for 1 month. Can't finish in a month?
Log in to your Destiny account or stop by the LC to renew your book anytime at one of our self check-out stations. No Problem!
Q: How many books can I check out at a time?
A. Students can have up to 5 books out at a time. This is particularly helpful during breaks or when projects are due. However, we recommend that students only check-out 2-3 books at a time.
Q. Do you charge fines for overdue books?
A. Fines may be charged for overdue books, a nickel a day per book. However, there is a week long grace period before the fine will begin to accrue. Students may renew their books at any time during their check-out period. Students are held responsible for lost or damaged books.
Q. Can I go to the LC throughout the school day?
A. During school hours students can come to the LC anytime, they just need a pass from their classroom teacher. Most ELA classes visit the LC once a month for check-outs. Students may also visit the LC during lunch or during Spartan Time.
Q. Can I print my documents?
A. Yes, students may print any school related document in black and white at the LC.
Q. Is the school LC catalog available at home?
A. Yes, just click the "Find a Book" page of this website. You can search for materials, place books on hold, renew books, write book reviews, browse databases, or access recommended websites.
Q. How do I access the databases from home?
A. Stop by the LC and get a list of the user names and passwords for
each of the available databases. You can also check out the "Find a Database" page of this website or use the "One Search" feature on Destiny Discover (our LC catalog).
