The FHSD Board of Education welcomed eighth grader Stevie Lupo as the student representative at the December Board meeting. Lupo has been a student in the Francis Howell School District since preschool and has certainly represented our community well with her positivity, leadership skills, and passion.

Students and staff say that Lupo’s positive energy is contagious. Since becoming the student council president, she has offered support to all of her peers and her committees. It is important to her to be at every meeting and help her fellow classmates succeed as part of an active and effective student council.

Lupo encourages her peers to be on time and helpful at meetings. She also includes students who may be shy or new to school activities. “She is a positive role model for her peers,” said Saeger principal Kandy Worley. “People and teachers look up to her.”

In addition to her leadership skills, her fundraising ideas have helped the school raise money and collect items for different causes ranging from the canned food drive to drug awareness activities. She also helped raise funds for the eighth grade dance this year.

Lupo has made some great contributions to Saeger, including school announcements in the morning, when she shares upcoming events and activities. The students can hear her familiar voice and positive messages over the intercom each week!

This vibrant eighth grader is a true voice for Saeger, and this month, she was a voice for FHSD – a well-deserved honor!
