The Spartan Way

Be Respect - Be Responsible - Be Safe

At Saeger, we place a strong emphasis on school-wide, positive behavior support that proactively defines, teaches, and encourages appropriate student behavior in all settings. This positive approach, with clear expectations, is rooted in research-based practices that improve the learning environment for all students. At Saeger, we call this "The Spartan Way” and it is rooted in three core values: be responsible, be respectful, and be safe.  The Spartan Way is everything we do and how we do it.

Thanks to our fabulous students and dedicated teachers, Saeger has seen a 72.5% decrease in behavior incidents since we began our Spartan Way journey in 2005.

Saeger Earns Gold Award 2015 and the Dr. Mary Richter Award

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education honored Saeger with two awards for their sustained positive behavior support efforts and results:  The Gold award is the top annual award awarded to schools who effectively implement a 3-tiered approach to proactively addressing behavior.  The Dr. Richter award is an award bestowed upon one school in the state of Missouri that best exemplifies the spirit and practices of school-wide positive behavior support.  Saeger is truly honored to have received this recognition from the state.

The graph below depicted our student office referrals. Our goal is to minimize the "yellow" and "red" students with more than 5 office referrals.  Therefore, we use weekly lessons, caught-cha's, challenges, and individual interventions as needed.  For more information about our Spartan Way, please see the links below or contact Mr. Leif Johnson at 636.851.5797.
